Musical Icons
This rant isn’t all of my design, the idea came from this madam here regarding a question she asked that I ran across asking: “who will be the musical icons of our generation?”
Well it all boils down to perspective, I personally think we’ll have one for ever genre, but most people’s musical tastes aren’t as broad as mine. Avenged Sevenfold will probably end up being the icon for hard rock, Wiz Khalifa (hypothetically, don’t be blowing up my inbox saying someone else is going to be the icon. That’s just rude and a waste of my time) for rap and so on. Who it boils down to eventually is whoever is the icon for the most mainstream genre (hipsters need not apply) and whoever lives the longest or dies in some horrific way (see: metallica, hendrix, and lynyrd skynyrd) tends to be the icon for said generation. But in the end the icon has to really represent how that generation felt about things in general (Hendrix’s ideology works well with that of the hippies; Kurt Cobain works well with the grunge scene; The Clash went great with the punks) and hopefully not too many people of the generation get left out of the loop so to speak. May the best musician win :3 who do you nominate for our musical icon?
